Rats What is in my plague rat, will my cat like it? | |||||||
| Plague rats are a
toy of two parts. The rat itself is made from materials that cats really enjoy getting their paws around, natural linen well stuffed with high quality toy stuffing creates a firm base just right for digging claws into, a long woollen tail lets you join in the fun by dangling the rat for your cat to pounce on, and the little leather ears are just so nice for a cat to nibble. (In all honesty, they usually chew off the ears fairly fast, but they won't hurt the cat if they do eat them) The 'active' part is a good helping of high quality dried catnip (nepeta cataria) and chopped valerian root (valerian officinalis) in the nose part of the ratsie, blended just the way our resident rat-tester Hagl likes it. These two herbs are irresistible to cats, even more so in combination. To humans they smell a little musty, but to cats, this is serious indulgence. Most cats find they get a little bit 'drunk' and kittenish on them, often followed by a serious need to snooze. Please note, these aren't suitable for kittens. You wouldn't give a child alcohol, think of these rats in the same way, an indulgence for adult cats only. Most cats get about a year of use out of their rat. Hagl here quality controls each batch for us, and only lets the rats out into the world if they pass his exacting standards. |
